Picked this one up for an absolute steal, and it's really been a joy to play. The frets on it were surprisingly well made - it didn't show any signs of anyone working on it after purchase so I suspect it came out of the factory that way. Well done Indonesia!
Serial number shows that it was made in 2006 in the Cor-Tek factory (Cort). The grain on the rosewood fingerboard looks very tight so I can't be sure that it is actual rosewood. No other perceivable features that look out of place.
The Affinity series are probably the lowest end of the Squier line. I have no issues with its quality and I actually find it quite well made, as far as I can tell.
I've replaced the nut with a Tusq. This may help someone else: I had assumed that the nut slot was going to be radiused to match the fingerboard radius. This is not the case, it is a flat slot. I had to reshape the Tusq nut because of this.
I've also replaced the electronics with CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack that I had in my spares pile. The capacitor used was an Orange Drop 0.047uF.
