The best acoustic guitar I've ever owned...given as a birthday gift by my wonderful parents sometime in my twenties.
Serial number reveals that it was made in 1999. It comes with a Takamine "Graph Ex" pre-amp. That particular pre-amp has an "Exciter" control which "adds clarity". It sounds like a high frequency tone control, to me.
The NS designation in the model number seems to be referring to the "Natural Series"? I think the defining features of that line were a non-gloss finish, wooden fretboard dot inlays (maybe maple?) and no pickguard. I could be wrong about all of this but this is just the information I've gathered over the years - there's not much out there on the internet on this, that I could find anyway.
No real complaints about this beast...if I were to fault it for anything it would be that it is a little plain looking. But that is fine, that suits me to a tee.
